The Brunei ‘model’

THE Sultanate of Brunei is running out of oil. Lower production levels led to a 34pc drop in crude oil exports last November, which amounted to a loss of nearly $400 million in revenue. Because so much of the country’s economy is dependent on the energy sector and oil exports, the result was a drop of 1.4pc in the country’s GDP.
The people of Brunei are quite troubled. By any standards, the country’s population of 420,000 has enjoyed a lovely life thanks to their oil reserves: none of the citizens pay taxes, everyone gets a pension, medical care is free, there is little crime, and many leisure activities are paid for by the government. With such a surfeit of cash divided amongst so tiny a population, life has generally been easy.
On top of all those enjoying the good life is the Sultan of Brunei himself, who lives in a palace of 1,800 rooms and has ruled the country for decades. For all involved, times have been good — until recently, when the prediction that Brunei would run out of oil, along with the actual and drastic drop in oil production in the last quarter of the year, have together lent credence to the awful prospect that there may be an end to paradise.
But the sudden plummeting of oil reserves is not the only news from Brunei these days. On May 1, the sultan (who is also the defence and finance minister) announced large-scale legal reforms that would implement his chosen version of Sharia law. In this, the first phase of the implementation, violations such as not fasting in the month of Ramazan and the missing of Friday prayers are now punishable by hefty fines or jail sentences.
In the next phase, which is to take place after a year, Hudood punishments for theft and the consumption of alcohol will be implemented. In the final phase, capital punishment (including stoning) for the crimes of blasphemy, adultery and fornication will be in place.
Coming as they do in quick succession, the two developments — the implementation of Sharia and the realisation of dwindling oil reserves — can be said to bear some connection. Indeed, Pakistan, which has (as per the Brunei definition) already seen some enforcement of Sharia, has experience in using large-scale legal reforms during times of crisis.
One form of implementation took place under Gen Ziaul Haq’s martial law regime, when the shadow of a military coup and an executed prime minister darkened the political landscape. Promulgating various ordinances, the Zina and Hudood Ordinances among them, helpfully redirected the national debate away from the violations of the Constitution and the impact on institutions of democracy. It worked in Pakistan back then, and perhaps Brunei has taken note.
There are other reasons to question the intentions of the sultan. Until now, few of his habits and predilections have reflected much of a concern for religion and its place in the public sphere.
One example presented itself in the immediate aftermath of his Sharia announcement. Appalled by the descriptions of the flogging and stoning punishments to come, a gaggle of celebrities in Hollywood announced a boycott of the Beverly Hills Hotel because it was owned by the Brunei Investment Agency, which is owned by the sultan. The event, the ‘Night before the Oscars’, which was scheduled to be held at the hotel, one Hollywood news source reported, would now be held elsewhere. Another awards event, to be hosted by television personality Jay Leno, was similarly moved to another location.
Those are the misgivings of Hollywood. For our purposes of evaluating the intentions of the sultan’s implementation of Sharia, the interesting aspect of this latest development is quite simply the fact that he continues to own properties that, under the code imposed in Brunei, would require the fining and jailing of his customers.
In simple terms, then, and in the tradition of oil-rich monarchs elsewhere, the sultan sees no problem in owning assets and encouraging abroad what he has himself declared sinful and punishable at home. The ruse is not limited to owning hotels in Hollywood. A cursory search of the sultan’s past and that of other men in his family reveals a decadent lifestyle shorn of any sense of ethics, Islamic or otherwise.
In one article, a woman claimed she was the mistress of the prince of Brunei, the sultan’s brother. Hers is a story of casting calls held in New York through which beautiful women were selected and taken to Dubai. Once there, it is alleged they were entertained at lavish parties featuring gold woven carpets and limitless alcohol, and encouraged to compete to attract the attentions of the lucky prince.
This month, the brother of this profligate prince became a champion of Sharia law, the hypocrisy visible to all who know anything about the decadent doings of the Brunei royal family.
Here in Pakistan where the Sharia’s influence in several areas has still not succeeded in making the country adequately Islamic, the experiment in Brunei is worthy of note. Protecting the sanctity of faith, and of the legal code based on it, should perhaps also mean preventing it from being so grossly misused as a cover-up for the political machinations of the power-hungry.

Strong demand in Brunei for Muslimah fashion

Malaysian designers and retailers of Muslimah fashion brands have found a strong demand in Brunei following exhibitions in the sultanate.
One of the owners of Malaysian Muslim fashion outlet Busana Saizara, Ani Aizara, says she found Brunei “a very good place to do business” when she attended this year’s Brunei International Trade and Consumer Exhibition (BITC) for the first time. She followed up by taking part in the Brunei Islamic Fashion Exhibition (Bifex) last month.
Aizara says her sales were so overwhelmingly positive during Bifex she had to ship more items over to replenish her stock, and her company is now in discussions with online store Dee Collections, which is interested in carrying the brand in Brunei.
“We will hopefully be signing an MOU very soon,” says Aizara.
Another Malaysian fashion store, House of Doll, also received encouraging sales at Bifex, reports The Brunei Times. The company launched its Hijab body mists and doll scarves during the expo before launching them in Kuala Lumpur.
A company spokesman says it has already found a reseller for its new products and will be looking for more Brunei distributors before the end of the year.
Sakura Malaysia brand director Suraya Sharifuddin says her brand has a strong following in Brunei through online shopping portal Fashion Valet. She says her company’s fragrances are in high demand in Brunei and sold “like hotcakes” at the Kuala Lumpur International Hijab Fair (KLIHF) in Brunei early this year.
“We usually hold sales for our products in Kuala Lumpur during Ramadhan, but then we decided to hold the sales exclusively at Bifex because of the overwhelming reception in Brunei,” says Sharifuddin.
Sakura has teamed up with Brunei fashion boutique Melur for distribution, and Sharifuddin says the brand hopes to launch its own clothing line in Brunei.

10 hot South Korean fashion brands and where to buy them

Story highlights

  • From loud street style to runway chic, these brands are defining Asia's trendiest looks
  • 8seconds is Samsung's answer to UNIQLO
  • Beyond Closet and MVIO create hyper-trendy menswear
  • Jain Song is known for sharp, sophisticated looks
  • For visitors with shopping at the top of their agenda in Seoul and beyond, it may be hard to keep up; Korean fashion is furiously fast and fickle.
But from Seoul's distinctive street style (loud statement pieces are the calling cards) to runway chic, these top 10 South Korean fashion brands are defining some of Asia's trendiest looks.
    For the moment anyway.
    1. 8seconds

8seconds stores are located all over South Korea; the flagship store is located on trendy Garosugil.
"Spain has Zara, Korea has 8seconds," says "InStyle Korea" fashion editor Sujin Yang.
Launched in February in 2012 by Samsung subsidiary Cheil Industries as a domestic competitor to foreign fashion brands such as UNIQLO, 8seconds' heavy marketing paid off with ₩60 billion ($54 million) in sales in 2012.
The brand's goal for 2013 is ₩150 billion ($134 million) in sales. It hopes to bring its success abroad with international stores open by 2014.
The name is supposed to signify the length of time that we perceive as the "now," according to the brand's somewhat convoluted mission statement.
With colorful and creative displays, the stores are some of the most fun to visit in Korea.
A signature 8seconds look combines neon tribal print leggings, Space Age-silver bomber jacket and retro polka dot blouse, all at extremely low prices, in the Forever 21 range.
    8seconds Garosugil flagship store: 535-12 Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul; +82 70 7090 1144 Myeong-dong branch, 50-1 Myeongdong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul; +82 70 7090 2272
    2. Lucky Chouette

Lucky Chouette is the sister brand of Jardin de Chouette, which means "garden of owls."
Lucky Chouette is the variegated, street-inspired and accessible line by Kim Jae-hyun, who was chosen to be part of Seoul's 10 Soul -- a fashion project launched by the Seoul government to promote upcoming Korean designers.
"Kim Jae-hyun is already a familiar figure in the fashion world through her Jardin de Chouette line," says Yang, adding that Kim's atelier is always crowded with Korean celebrities.
Silhouettes tend to be chunky and casual -- skirts are short and flared, blouses are oversized.
Prints play a big part in the Lucky Chouette design, as does the owl, which is supposed to symbolize luck.
    Lucky Chouette Cheongdam store, 21-15 Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul; +82 2 3444 1002 Lotte branch, 2/F Lotte Department Store, 1 Sogong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul; +82 2 772 3211
    3. Steve J. & Yoni P.

Steve J. and Yoni P., the funky designer duo behind their eponymous brand.
Having debuted their first collection at London Fashion Week in 2007, this duo's designs can be found at foreign high-fashion retailers such as Opening Ceremony. In Korea, the initial wave of popularity that greeted them is as strong as ever.
The clothes are wearable, but with an unexpected kick in the details.
The brand's flagship store in Hannam-dong this season is a playground of summery dresses with floral prints, fancifully re-imagined stripes and paisley.
    Steve J & Yoni P, 685-12, Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul; +82 2 543 4766 4. Beyond Closet

Beyond Closet adds a lot of cute to classic men's looks.
This menswear label is the creation of designer Ko Tae yong, who created costumes for the hit Korean wave drama "Boys Over Flowers."
Launched in 2008, the brand stocks classic and collegiate baseball jackets, sports jackets and button-downs in vibrant and boyish blues, reds and yellows.
While the look won't exactly fly at a job interview, it's great for sartorially conscious men in their twenties and thirties whose masculinity isn't derailed by a healthy dose of cute in their wardrobes.
The brand's runway wear is available for purchase on their website or at the showroom.
Multi-brand shop A Land also stocks the line in its various locations (Myeongdong, Sinsa-dong, COEX, Gangnam, Hongdae and the Mokdong Hyundai Department Store).
    Beyond Closet showroom, B1, 560-2, Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul A Land Myeong-dong, 53-6 Myeongdong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul; +82 2 1566-7477 5. Jain Song

Jain Song's lifestyle/concept shop in Hannamdong, Mo Jain Song, opened earlier this year.
"Jain Song is known for her sharp, sophisticated and clean looks," says Yang about the designer's eponymous label.
Song interned with her mother, veteran designer Kim Dong-soon, before launching her own collection in 2004.
It's been a successful riding from there, with collaborations with high fashion boutique 10 corso como, LG Mobile, Estee Lauder and Iope.
The brand has an online shop, and its Hannamdong flagship store Mo Jain Song, which opened this year, is quickly becoming a popular hangout for the city's young and stylish with its pretty outdoor cafe and carefully cultivated rooftop garden. The flagship store stocks a variety of curated lifestyle items along with the fashion line.
    Mo Jain Song, 739-6 Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul; +82 2 797 6231 6. Reike Nen

Futuristic, show-stopping monochromatic works of art for female feet.
Founded in 2010 by designer Rei Yoon Hong Mi, the Reike Nen shoe brand deconstructs classic footwear like oxfords and pumps, fuses them with creepers and wedges or cuts them into sandals.
Despite the restrained color palette -- white, sometimes black and the occasional neutral -- the shoes manage to be wholly original, quietly dominating an outfit without being overtly attention seeking.
Best of all, the shoes are light and comfortable.
Sold at Opening Ceremony in the United States, Reike Nen also has an online shop. Domestic offline shops include the Steve J & Yoni P store in Hannam-dong, as well as the following multi-brand stores: Flow, 84-10, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnamgu, Seoul; +82 2 511 4074 Koon With a View, 546-5, Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul; +82 2 548 4504 7. Style Nanda

Style Nanda carries its own makeup line, accessories, shoes and even framed in-house art prints.
"This nine-year brand is climbing the fashion ranks at a dangerous speed and pretty much leading Hallyu (Korean Wave) fashion," says Yang.
Style Nanda began as an Internet site selling secondhand clothes from founder Kim So-hee.
Now it has an enormous three-story flagship store in Hongdae (as well as a Lotte YoungPlaza location) and is the second most sought after Korean brand by Chinese tourists in Korea, according to Lotte Department Store.
    Style Nanda, 335-21 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul; +82 2 333 9217 8. PartspARTs

PartspARTs is one of South Korea's most highly coveted brands of the moment.
"Life is short, PartspARTs is long."
That's what PartspARTs designer Im Seonoc says about her brand, with an emphasis on the "art."
This is a reflection of her multidisciplinary background, which includes film, art and contemporary dance.
The garments are made solely from jersey through a technology-informed process designed to minimize waste.
The spring/summer collection is all chic and modern shift dresses and wide-legged trousers, made of sleek lines, unexpectedly sexy cuts and silky smooth textures.
The brand's items of the moment are a work-friendly tote bag and color-blocked blouse.
    IMSEONOC Showroom, 208-40 Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul; +82 3443 3937 9. MVIO

    MVIO does hyper-trendy menswear.
MVIO makes business wear for men that like to dress up, and is a great stop for guys looking for a more creative off-the-rack business casual pieces.
Another Cheil Industries brand (a Samsung subsidiary), MVIO is led by creative director Han Sanghyuk, who features traditional cuts with an aggressively stylish android twist.
The spring/summer 2013 collection is built around theme of a "perfect man."
The Ken Doll-like perfection is a little off-putting, but the reasonable prices are nice -- pants start below ₩100,000 ($90) and three-piece sets start from ₩210,000 ($189).
    MVIO, Lotte Department Store; 1 Sogong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul; +82 2 772 3561 10. The Studio K

The Studio K's navy and coral 2013 look book is sprightlier than the neutrals and grays of past seasons.
South Korean fashion editors and fashionistas adore designer Hyejin Hong's brand the Studio K, says Yang.
Often called "the Korean Marni," the brand's designs are minimalist and elegant, inspired by algorithms and technology, according to the designer.
It's difficult to step into what may look like a paper construction or a sartorial rendering of a skyscraper and not feel overshadowed, but the clothes are miraculously flattering.
The Studio K, 648-20 Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul; +82 2 518 8984 CNN Travel's series often carries sponsorship originating from the countries and regions we profile. However CNN retains full editorial control over all of its reports. Read the policy.

Designer Sends Models With Acne Down Runway

View in slideshow When you attend a fashion show, there are guaranteed to be some some surprises. Take Lady Gaga's runway walk at the Marc Jacobs show or the time Hood by Air sent models with unblended contoured faces down the Spring 2016 catwalk. Whatever the stunt may be, it's bound to awe the viewers and whip up excitement for the haute couture creations.
Recently, at Milan Men's Fashion Week, Malaysian fashion designer Moto Guo took the shock value one step further by sending models down his Spring 2017 runway with full-blown acne. We're not talking about a pimple here or there; these models had red splotches all over their faces.
By spotlighting the acne flare-ups in his show during Fashion Week, the designer spoke to a larger point: that blemishes and skin problems are real, and it's OK to leave them exposed. At fashion shows, we almost expect to see models only with glossy hair and pristine skin, but Moto Guo shattered this illusion by choosing to highlight the realities many of us struggle with daily.
One of his makeup artists even snapped a photo of the models in their natural state and captioned it, "pimples and rashes are in fashion now."
Though I understand what she means by "in fashion," that's not exactly the term I would use to describe the meaning behind Moto Guo's show. Zits, pimples, rashes, and other skin problems are not edgy or trendy. These are sensitive issues many people struggle with on a daily basis. And to declare acne as "in" makes light of a difficult and often heart-wrenching subject.
That being said, it's worthy to note that Moto Guo began an important conversation: all skin types can be represented on the runway. Beauty diversity at Fashion Week has been an ongoing topic, and this is just another example of how it's being executed. Past designers like Marc Jacobs and Jason Wu led the way for Moto Guo by choosing to emphasize their models' natural beauty by sending them down the runway makeup free.
Ahead, see photos from the show and let us know what you make of the situation.

International Yoga Day and Living a Yoga Lifestyle

When you think of yoga, what picture comes to mind...legging-clad women in classes or yoga retreats flowing through challenging poses or Indian gurus twisted like contortionists? Over the last 10 -15 years, yoga has emerged from being a pastime for those interested in a holistic lifestyle, to a mainstream form of exercise; good for flexibility and stress relief and in some types of yoga such as Vinyasa and Ashtanga, a good old workout.
But what happened to the true meaning of yoga? Our goal-driven society has stripped out the spiritual and holistic to focus on the physical. Roll on International Yoga Day to set us straight again!
The day has been set up by the UN to answer the calls of India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to remind the world about yoga's true meaning. "It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well being," he said.
So it is a philosophy and a lifestyle rather than a hours class at the gym a couple of hours a week? What does that mean for me exactly and how should I live the lifestyle, I hear you ask? As someone who has practised yoga on the physical level over the last 20 years, I have been on my own personal journey, realising that it is so much more than a way to improve flexibility and spine health. My research and personal evolution has brought me to my own rules and interpretation of a yogic lifestyle:
    1. Be honest. Most importantly be honest with yourself. Find your truth, what you believe in and what feels right to you. Resist the temptation to convince yourself of something you don't really believe in because others do so. Live your truth and have integrity.
    2. Love yourself. Not in a vain, egotistical way but enough to really care about your body and mind. Eat a clean and healthy diet, exercise your body and keep your mind healthy through a regular meditation practice and constant learning. Invest in yourself. It is not a luxury but a necessity.
    3. Respect all living things. Be aware of how your actions and words affect other human beings, animals and nature. Be compassionate and don't judge those who have different beliefs or chose different paths to your own.
    4. Be grateful & giving. Gratitude brings happiness as does helping others. On a daily basis remind yourself about what is good in your life and do something for someone else. Buy someone a cup of tea, smile at a stranger, put your arm around a colleague who is having a difficult day. We forget to do these small things that can help another human being and bring us happiness too.
    5. Have awareness or "mindful". Be aware of your thoughts and how they affect you. Be aware of what you consume and how it affects you - do certain foods make you feel better than others? So often we go through our day to day on automatic pilot, not being aware of what triggers certain behaviour, emotional states or how we feel. A daily meditation practice of being aware of your breath whilst observing your thoughts can help you get there.
So how about using the 21st June, International Yoga Day, as a day to set up your intention to introduce some yoga lifestyle practices in addition to your yoga classes? I am still on my ongoing yoga journey, trying to integrate more of them on a daily basis. No doubt the journey will continue for me throughout my lifetime.

A Definitive Ranking Of Clothing Lines Started By Rappers

On Saturday at MADE L.A., rapper Tyler, the Creator’s fashion line, Golf Wang, made its runway debut — and it was the flowery, skate-kid-inspired presentation you wish your high school crush had worn. The word “golf” was emblazoned across bold, neon-colored items, from footballs and classic hoodies to bathrobes and denim jackets. Inspired by his childhood (“Growing up as an inner-city Black kid, I wasn’t the most masculine. I wasn’t into sports. I liked pink and shit,” he told the audience), the 25-year-old’s design aesthetic moved past Odd Future’s (R.I.P.) doughnut-covered socks and shirts, focusing on a more streamlined collection that was half-reminiscent of ‘90s Nickelodeon, and half unsurprisingly in-tune with the industry’s latest obsession with pared-back streetwear.Beyond the debut of his new song, “My Ego,” and a special front-row appearance by Kanye West and Kendall Jenner, the most exciting part of the evening may have been the announcement of the Golf Le Fleur, Tyler’s first sneaker design: a white kick decorated with flowers (available in multiple colorways), launching at the end of the year. Pulling an Oprah, he closed out the runway show/mini-concert by telling the audience: “By August, September, October, November, December...you’ll get a shoe, you’ll get a shoe, you’ll get a shoe! You all get a shoe!”
But before Golf Wang — and even before Yeezy — there was Wu Wear, Rocawear, Sean John, and an array of other clothing labels that helped turn rappers into global brands (and it’s no surprise, considering how intertwined personal style and music have always been). Below, we’ve compiled some of the greatest (and worst) fashion companies started by hip-hop’s finest.
    1. Golf Wang; Tyler, the Creator (2016-present)On a runway-slash-skate ramp surrounded by flowers, Tyler, the Creator presented his loud line of streetwear. The collection and show perfectly echoed his eccentric and unconventional sense of humor, meaning if you’re not into lightly-colored “golf” separates, you can always snag a skate deck or a pair of smiley-face dice.
    2. Yeezy, Kanye West (2013-present)
Kanye West’s movement in the fashion industry was inevitable, from his first launch of Pastelle Clothing in 2005 to his runway collection of womenswear in 2012. A shoe collaboration with Adidas was what ultimately launched his design career and West's muted offering for Yeezy Season 1 was a hit. Last season, West held an extravagant listening party-cum-fashion show at Madison Square Garden, where he hosted thousands of fans for the debut of Yeezy Season 2, and his new album, The Life of Pablo.3. Billionaire Boy’s Club, Pharrell (2005-present)
Exactly what you would expect from Pharrell uniting with Nigo (founder of Bape). From the start, the clothing line was exclusively manufactured in Japan, which resulted in high-quality construction and limited quantities. The pieces are thoughtful and easy to wear with anything.
    4. Rocawear, Jay Z (1999-present)
In the past, Rocawear has received some criticism, but Jay Z has always been a pro at getting that dirt off his shoulder. Hov’s brand includes watches, footwear, and more, though the highlight is definitely the cable-knit matching set you never knew you needed.
    5. Benjamin Bixby, Andre 3000 (2008; currently on hiatus)
An outlier from the usual streetwear hip-hop brands, Andre 3000's whimsical line accurately reflects the singers eclectic style, with quirky polka dotted bow ties and plaid blazers. The combination of dandyism and his affinity for the '70s makes for a nostalgic brand that would make Beau Brummell proud.
    6. Sean John, Sean Combs (1999-present)
Diddy's Sean John line won him a CFDA Award in 2004 for Menswear Designer of the Year. The innovative R & B rapper was also the first to utilize social media by broadcasting his show on Instagram and Twitter in 2013. His collections focus on well-cut suits, classy leisure pieces, and all-white ensembles you wish you could wear to one of his famous white parties.
    7. Wu Wear, Wu Tang (1995-present)
One of the original pioneers of streetwear, Wu Wear is now a rare vintage find. Today, it's a Europe-based online store that sells your usual graphic tees and hoodies, but way back when, the brand was a stylish and creative hit with printed windbreakers and kung fu-inspired goods. BRB, searching every vintage store and eBay for a Shaolin tee or Hawaiian shirt.
    8. G-Unit, 50 Cent (2003-2009)
50 Cent’s clothing label was created with Marc Ecko, but ultimately failed after the pair had a rocky on-and-off partnership. In most of his music videos, the rapper and his #squad can be seen in head-to-toe G-Unit (you know, in the club, goin' down).
    9. Shady Ltd., Eminem (2003-present)
Slim Shady’s clothing line includes the typical jerseys and tees, but even better are the button-up plaid shirts and polos (which we swear he wore multiple times in 8 Mile). We’re still searching for the sold-out Shady Ltd. “Mom’s Spaghetti” tee that debuted this Mother’s Day, though. Talk about a classic.
    10. Play Cloths, Pusha T (2008-present)Pusha T’s creative venture covers all the classic streetwear categories. The brand's graphic tees advertise the brand with “Play” printed across the front and snapbacks with the brand’s logo, a running man. Many of the prints are similar to a Le Corbusier painting, which begs the question: Is Pusha T a low-key cubism fan or was this unintentional?
    11. Rich & Infamous, Snoop Dogg (2008-2010)
Is there anything Snoop Dogg hasn’t dipped his toes in? From being a part-owner of Reddit to starting his own cannabis lifestyle website, Merry Jane, he also created his own clothing line. Snoop worked extensively with Christian Audigier (yes, of Ed Hardy fame) on the pieces. Although we love Snoop Dogg, we considering ourselves — and everyone else — lucky that this brand closed its doors only two years after conception.
    12. Vokal & Apple Bottom Jeans, Nelly (2001-present)
Started by Nelly and his cousin, Yomi Martin, Vokal, which mainly consisted of jerseys with the brand's name embroidered on them, was first sold at nightclubs in Missouri. The duo later started the denim brand Apple Bottom Jeans (sing it: "boots with the fur"), which was largely successful after a tont of lyrical references.
    13. Last Kings, Tyga (2011-present)
Tyga’s clothing label is a nod to vintage Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren. Last Kings has a '90s skater-kid aesthetic that leans towards a more simple, refined look. The denim shirts and light-blue windbreakers are good enough to snag.
    14. Shago, Bow Wow (2003-2006)
Inspired by Diddy's Sean John, Bow Wow started his own clothing brand for lil' boys; it had three collections: Classic, Knight, and Racing. Like when he dropped the "lil'" from his name, Bow Wow's clothing line suffered a similar fate.
    15. Bushi Sport, Busta Rhymes (1999-2000)
Unfortunately for Busta Rhymes, the leather vest-and-fedora look never really took off. Not gonna lie, we almost miss the collection's puffer jackets and long coats. #RIP.
    16. Todd Smith, LL Cool J (2006-2009)
LL Cool J’s brand made a strange transition from a menswear presentation in 2006 inspired by Zegna and Chloé to a clothing line seemingly inspired by Ed Hardy (again?). It became incredibly clear that he wouldn’t be the next Sean John after releasing a line of tattoo-embellished leather jackets and hoodies. Le sigh.
    17. Aura Gold, Big Sean (2013-2014)Aura Gold covers all of the streetwear basics, like a bomber jacket and graphic tees decked in the brand's logo (which happens to be a lion's head). Unfortunately, if a giant gold lion chain is what you’ve been searching for, you've missed your opportunity.
    18. Akoo & Hustle Gang, TI (2008-present)
Akoo, standing for A King of Oneself, was started by T.I. and features the usual graphic tees and jerseys with a slight twist. Almost any combination of trendy clothing can be found at Akoo, meaning you can have whatever you like. Because who doesn’t need another denim jacket-hoodie hybrid or paint-splatter, zip-pocket, knee-pad jeans?
    19. Trukfit, Lil Wayne (2012-present)
What started as a parody of streetwear, Trukfit has rebranded itself to be a lifestyle brand focused on thoughtful design. Quilted slightly drop-crotched pants and neoprene hoodies are just a few updates. We're interested to see what's next.
    20. DMX Authentic, DMX (2006-2007)
DMX was at his prime in the late '90s, which would have been the ideal time to launch his own line. But after a failed attempt at clothing for dogs, the brand eventually folded a year later. X did not give it to us this time.

Love Joule, Japan's First Bar Devoted To Female Masturbation, Opens In Tokyo

This bar is guaranteed to get a lot of buzz . . . if only for the battery-operated sex toys.
Love Joule, a colorful new bar in the Shibuya district Tokyo, is the first “love and sex bar dedicated to women," according to the Tokyo Reporter. What does this mean, exactly? Proprietor Megumi Nakagawa minces few words.
"Once they take a seat, customers are able to experience a pleasant place in which they can openly discuss masturbation,” she said. “Since most people view female masturbation as something of a mystery or taboo, it is not a usual topic at typical bars.”
It's hard to imagine not talking about the bar's unique theme. Behind the counter, where rows of liquor bottles would normally stand, are colorful display cases filled with dozens and dozens of different types of vibrators.
The spot is already a hit with women in the commercial sex and burgeoning adult film industry, according to its Facebook page, which sites former adult video star Nayuka Mine and model Sayo Hayakawa as customers.
Akiko Teishi, a reporter for blog Bikyamasr.com, visited the bar recently and spoke to some of its patrons.
“I go because it is a safe place and I don’t have to worry about trying to brush off men all the time," said a customer going by the name Sayama. "Add in that it is also a great place to drink and talk about what we women love to talk about, sex and guys, that’s also a big pull."
According to the blog, Ikuko Ikeshita a doctor with the Ikeshita Ladies’ Clinic, said that over the past few years, “there has been a movement to do away with the stigma surrounding female masturbation in Japan, pointing to the increase in websites discussing female sexuality and stores selling female sex goods.” Love Joule is just part of this general trend.
The sanctity of the space is preserved by a policy prohibiting single men from entering-- men are only welcome if they are accompanying a woman, according to Rocket News.
Men without a female companion will just have to wonder what's going on inside. Luckily for them, male masturbation doesn't face the same stigma.
Guys not lucky enough to secure a Love Joule invite may want to check out Koichi Matsumoto's customized toys "just for men." Since 2005, Matsumoto's company Tenga has sold more than 15 million male masturbation units worldwide, according to Salon, including 6.5 million units of his best-seller, the disposable Tenga Egg.

    Excellence and greatness MaxMara Italy

Of course many of us have heard of MaxMara Italy, the name was quite famous in the fashion world, especially in the production of fashion clothing for women as a key pillar in the clothing business in the fashion industry, but now MaxMara Italy has been involved seriously in the production of fashion clothing for men, certainly  awesome, actualy great brands usually have a pretty good performance so as to last for centuries, and of course great brands are often bandied about for fashion lovers from all over the world that anyone wearing MaxMara Italian products will be the focus people no matter what the situation was, and indirectly will improve the image of those who wear the brand products MaxMara Italy.
I am very interested in the fashion world sometimes I spent a lot of time just to get to know fashion better, in fact, sometimes I was too prominent and too stylish to wear football shirts layered only willing to look stylish during the day, even in very hot conditions, of course, sweat it out on him , what could I have a story like style, there is one point that I included in the trenches want to look great just because it is absolutely disgraceful hahaha.Ok have too much time we spend just a nonsense now focus your attention for what we want to talk about, what MaxMara Italy so great about this as I know, wear and go to football after that if dirty wash, everyone was doing the same thing as what I do, but MaxMara Italy is the fashion industry giant that has branches all over the world, the recent great if I am not mistaken in March MaxMara leading events held at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in March 10, 2011 Collection Spring / Summer. Representatives from MaxMara Italy has also been equally present in enliven the afternoon, including members of the press Malaysia and fans MaxMara Italy, besides what is more surprising guests who were present at the event was Chermaine Poo and Nadine Ann Thomas, Miss Malaysia 2010.
According to history, sorry I have to say it began as early MaxMara history or society, or rather Italy we call a house MaxMara, whoa does this mean the beginning of this boutique development was a house I was thinking about how the Brothers there, whether it is a house and why not a shop or boutique, I am saying this luxury fashion house famous Italian with clothes ready to wear at an affordable price with quality, was founded in 1951 in Reggio Emilia by Achille Maramotti by March 2008, the company now owns nearly 2254 stores in 90 countries, as I said before fashion has a high potential for increased progress in the future what clothes are not important basic facilities to people.
History seems to let all the brothers and sisters willing to stay abreast of this story is more interesting, now we have reached the stage of development or rather MaxMara Italian luxury house MaxMara, of course, the early establishment MaxMara Italy, who play an important role and is the backbone of the development MaxMara Italy is the Achille Maramotti, if practiced carefully MaxMara Italian names in common with the family name of Achille Maramotti, Acihille Maramotti began designing couture clothing in 1947, a period long enough to survive until now, And the house of Max Mara was formally established in 1951. as I said earlier "Mara" is the name of inspired from his family name and "Max" is Count Max, a local who could not self-conscious but always stylish, great enough not wait for a while what is meant by "Too self conscious "There is meaning behind the text but I am sure that fashion can give the wearer confidence even on its face it is not perfect because it has always been a complementary fashion in the defect is not, I believe my words just right.
Maramotti always thought that the future of fashion lies from the results of large-scale Maramotti was great ambition is not all businesses are able to act like what he did, Max Mara has resulted in a total of 35 labels, although women's clothing is a major production but the company has resulted in brands like Sportmax, Sportmax Code, Weekend Max Mara, Marella, Pennyblack, iBlues, Max & Co and Marina Rinaldi. The Independent is the latest brand founded in 1980 and named after Achille Maramotti grandmother.
Achille Maramotti was born on January 7, 192 in Reggio Emilia in the Italian, and have been educated in Rome and received a law degree from the University Of Parma. Through Rich Forbes in 2005, Maramotti was one of the richest men to have assets of U.S. $ 2.1 billion figure was unusual enough, he was the patron of the arts industry, and is the largest investor in the bank Itali.Achille Maramotti died in Albinea, Italy on January 12, 2005, and two children Maramotti Luigi, Ignazio and Ludovica inherited the responsibility to manage the business MaxMara Italy.

It appears we have reached the end of the plan and once again I want to say thank you for giving your precious time to be with me, I would like to emphasize fashion business a challenging field and is not easy to be successful in this industry and perseverance necessary to succeed in the fashion industry but I am confident that as MaxMara Italian fashion is a pleasure if in indulging well.

    Emanuel Ungaro

Over the years, I often see many brands of shirts on the market, very much to difficult for me to choose the best brand of what is appropriate and fits with me, it is very confusing if too many options if more money is not why the only wage earner are not enough to spend more simply just to get dressed alone, thousands of friends all know about fashion brands now flooding in the Malaysian market, I am the same thing happening around the world almost every day is not growing like mushrooms after rain, entering the local market not only what fashion designers want to be like the mushrooms to emerge as the best fashion designer and want to own their own label.

If since I was little, the attire was not the original key can be applied is sufficient is not, what is important but we dress more adult tastes of clothing brands have changed if it is not only apologize if I want to go out into town to have a look as Bollywood artists , which can be applied ehemmm street brands most are not even the brand Nicole, Pierre Cardin, bottom or brand at it, recently I have other tastes have changed now I'm interested in Emanuel Ungaro, Emanuel side of my house not understand what I mean Emanuel Ungaro fashion brand which has gained the attention of the young teens who want something different.

Emanuel Ungaro or rather the House of Emanuel Ungaro is owned by Emanuel (Maffeolit) Ungaro was born on February 13 years, the same month of my birth, which is different is that he is a french fashon designer, in his early life was his father who fled the ethnic Italian to France from Francavilla Fontana Brindisi because of the rise of the Italian fascists, our lives are difficult, if not any good to fight a good fight if the peace alone, his father is a tailor and sewing machines was bequeathed to his son as a young man, this is also his father's initial push to he has led to what makes her shrine as a famous fashion designer.

At the age of 22 years, he moved to Paris, three years later, he started designing clothes for the House of Cristobal Balenciaga for three years before quitting to work for Courreges. In 1965 with the assistance of Swiss artist Sonja Knapp and Elena Bruno Fassio, Emannuel Ungaro opened his own fashion in Paris.
After a long active in the fashion industry Ungaro launched the first men's clothing, Ungaro Uomo in 1973 and perfume "Diva" 10 years later in 1983, followed in 1987 senso perfume, brand Ungaro in 1991 and then Emanuel Ungaro menswear in 1991 . in 1996 he shared with Salvatore Ferragamo 've created a new company and a joint program between Ungaro, Ferragamo and Bulgari, and finally Emanuel Ungaro perfums, after the emergence of a new perfume Fleur de Diva (1997), Desnuda (2001) and Apparition (2004 ).
after several years he conducted business Fashion label, in 2005 he retired and sold the label to the Internet entrepreneur Asim Abdullah, who is as much as U.S. $ 84 million. But after the sale too many problems have arisen as Esteban Cortazar has appointed in 2007 the dismissal due to refusal to cooperate with Lindsay Lohan who was appointed as Artistic Director, after the dismissal Lohan has been working with Estrella Archs, who was hired in a hurry to replace Cortazar.

But the label was not well received in Paris, Fashion in 2009 due to failure Lohan gives a good introduction to the Ungaro label publicity, then in 2010 Lindsay Lohan announced that she is no longer employed by Ungaro, and could not comment on the matter because the law issue.this years is in the less well received due to failure of the Ungaro label in the market, after several years of British designer Giles Deacon has taken over as creative director, after having been dismissed Archs.

However, Ungaro has gained a reputation of good and encouraging for further information about the Ungaro label all the friends it's good to see the latest developments of Ungaro in http://www.ungaro.com/ meet with us in the future and thank you

    History Of The Ideal Jeans

Yesterday while walking to the city all of a sudden my pants torn due to hit the iron, the Heck is the thing I hate most of all, never mind instead of what underwear is worth hundreds of dollars, this is the only long pants I have always dreamed of a new week, I adopted, these pants are torn, hard to believe is not, of course many of you have experienced the same events as I experienced not, this really has nothing to matter, what if in order to tailor the course is no longer pants instead.

But have you ever thought was a teenage currently cut jeans will be around for more highlights rock feeling, as if torn jeans that would look more aggressive, more powerful, more threatening and certainly more in the style rock advantage, whether in the West or in Asia this style seemed to have synonyms in teenagers who have the characteristics of rock, and certainly the appearance was important to be more visible rock.

Quotation of the rock, wowww I have to feel the feeling of rock in my soul, what rock did you have mastered yourself and your inspiration is rock, anything rock is a life story as well as fashion is a life that exists in our appearance his style is certainly something they have to match the concept, the style of pop, ballads and of course the orchestra also has a distinctive style that he be matched with an appropriate fashion, and this is the concept of fashion show features compatible with the right personality.
want to let the short story you've ever wondered where the origin of jeans, full of eager questions wooow, I'm anxious to know whether these jeans are so popular in society today, if your question is yes of course I said it was true-really popular and a brand of jeans is great at this age, do the pants in denim jeans, jeans first made by Jacob Davis, Calvin Rogers, and Levi Strauss in 1873 of blue in the United States, was originally designed for jeans U.S. military and the people who worked at the U.S. military, but jeans have become popular among teenagers, the jeans are the most known are as Levi's, Lee, and Wrangler.

Well what to say, a basic denim trousers were made in Chieri, a town near Turin in the Italian, more correctly, this underwear has been in existence at the beginning of the 19th century Renaissance, and has been on sale at the port of Genoa, which is the capital of the Republic of Genoa, which is a very important trading center at that time, this also means the pants are denim trousers that are used by the Navy at that time Genoa where denim pants that are not easily torn and had to meet tough requirements for the Army Genoa Marine and sailor who is exposed to sunlight and salt water.

Jeans are trousers that are very popular in the 19th century, to become the official uniform of the United States Navy in the 20th century to replace the Navy uniforms dirty and torn from the ship due to a work environment that is constantly exposed to heavy work and rough, but it Jeans also widely used as uniform pants in several prisons in LP for Jeans pants have a resistance to the heat of the sun light and suitable for doing the rough work and the weight of the prisoner while carrying out the sentence in prison, This shows that the pants Jeans have a good quality to be used widely around the world.

In the 1850s Levi Strauss was selling blue jeans under the brand name "Levi's" to the public mining California, one customer Strauss was Jacob Davis, a tailor who always belih cloth from Levi Strauss & Co, seems to come in due to a Davis denim fabric has been purchased for use as pants that are not easily torn when mining Davis has been using copper rivets to strengthen the eye strain, in the corner pocket and the top button fly, due to not having enough budget to use rivets on jeans pants, Davis Strauss suggests cooperation with fatherly start a business together.

Initially, a pair of jeans only to be used by factory workers during World War II, before it is sold widely in 1885 in the United States U.S., at that time most of Jeans for men has zips on the front, whereas women jeans pants with zipper on the right side , In the 1970s the denim industry has introduced the technique of stone-wash that was developed by the GWG is also known as the "Great Western Garment Co." Donald Freeland of Edmonton, Alberta in addition to the denim has been a pioneer on the market that have greater market large and flexible, since the jeans were introduced to nearly all of the world today where it is used extensively by both men and women of all races and ages.

I know many of us do not always wear jeans just about any brand, except it features a superior style jeans pants also play an important role in increasing Asian fashion industry at present, where jeans were introduced in various designs such as that we see at present, but many of us who do not know the legend and the history of jeans in which he has been through many events before it is introduced, hopefully I can give some of the historical events behind the trouser jeans.
